This Compression Bit combines both up‑cut and down‑cut flutes to deliver chip‑free edges on the top and bottom surfaces of your workpiece. With a cutting diameter and length of 3.175x12mm, this spiral router bit is engineered for CNC routing, cutting ACM Panel, joinery and furniture production. By pulling and pushing chips toward the centre, it leaves crisp edges on plywood, MDF, solid timber, laminates and ACM.

A diamond‑like carbon (DLC) coating provides an exceptionally hard, low‑friction surface that prevents aluminium chips from sticking to the tool. This anti‑stick property improves chip removal and reduces heat build‑up, making the bit ideal for machining soft metals, acrylic and composite materials.

Versatility and Benefits

Additionally, Thanks to its 1-flute geometry, this bit excels at dados, grooves, slots, mortises and edge trimming. It’s a favourite among cabinetmakers, sign makers and CNC hobbyists for cutting hardwoods, laminates, veneers and thrives in ACM. Whether you’re creating pockets, trimming laminates or nesting parts, this compression bit improves productivity.

  • Up‑cut and down‑cut flutes for chip‑free edges and no burring on top or bottom edges
  • DLC or nano coating reduces friction and heat build‑up, extending tool life
  • 1-flute design provides smooth finish and accuracy
  • Ideal for CNC routing of ACM, wood, MDF, plywood, laminates and composites
  • Special geometry allows chips to be packed in cut - small parts do not move or get sucked up by dust extraction
  • Perfect for panels with vinyl pre-applied - easy cleanup and great edge quality

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Trust our Tools

We use the very same tools we sell in our own CNC and Trade work, and have been for years. And trust, we have used and been frustrated with expensive sub-par tooling in the market like you have; and we want you to experience what its like to use amazing tools.

What if my Tool prematurely Snaps?

Likelyhood is that this is either due to incorrect speed/feed rates, the wrong diameter (size) being used, or too much material being removed in one pass.
Suggested fixes include: upgrading to a larger diameter tool, checking the material compatability and speed/feed recommendation on our product's page, or consulting our team on better recommendations.

How do I get the best tool Life?

Clean off any aluminium or plastic swarf that may be stuck to the tool, and wipe down with Isopropyl Alcohol, or Methylated Spirits.
Additionally, in running carbide tools, make sure that workholding is rigid and loose parts are secured during cutting to prevent vibration and premature tool snapping or chipping.
Ensure tool paths include lead-ins, and that tool stick-out is a minimal as possible.
Make sure you are using premium good-quality collets and tool holders with high-accuracy

How fast are orders dispatched?

Same day if before 11am, otherwise the next morning.
If your order is urgent, please add notes in the order and the team may be able to fast-track dispatch.

Do we offer trade pricing or bulk discounts?

Yes. Please contact the team first before ordering. We will assess the quantity and may provide bulk discounts via a coupon or setting you up with an account.

Can I use CNC router bits in a handheld router?

Yes, absolutely. You may be more prone to backlash and chatter without a rigid setup.

How do I get the best edge quality?

Sharp new tools always leave the best edge finish; therefore it is advantageous to use a roughing tool, and a new clean finishing tool for the last pass
