Purpose-built for clean plastic machining, this Plastic Up Spiral Router Bit is optimised for acrylic, PVC, polycarbonate and HDPE. The single-flute up-cut geometry and generous flute volume evacuate chips quickly to reduce heat build-up that can cause melting, gumming, or edge chipping. With a cutting size of 4mm × 12mm, it’s a solid all-rounder for sheet work, profiles, and pockets.
Key benefits
Fast chip evacuation keeps the cut cool—less melting, less gumming, cleaner edges.
Mirror-polished cutting edge reduces chip re-welding and improves surface finish.
Polished flute helps dissipate heat quickly—better tool life and more consistent results.
Optimised for acrylic sheets, PVC foam board, polycarbonate and HDPE (also suitable for thin ACM work).
High-quality carbide for rigidity and accuracy—less deflection, better edge control.
Diameter 4mm Cut Length 12mm Flutes 1 Optimised for Acrylic / PVC / Polycarb / HDPE / Plastics
Polished flute for smooth, melt-free cutting
The mirror-like polish improves chip flow and reduces heat, helping prevent edge whitening, chipping, and re-welding. The result is a cleaner cut surface and better edge clarity on plastics.
Better heat control means fewer melted chips, less edge tear-out, and more consistent results on long nested jobs.
Applications and benefits
Ideal for sign makers, fabricators and CNC users cutting acrylic sheet, PVC foam board and general plastics. The generous flute capacity supports higher feed rates while helping keep the workpiece cool. Also suitable for thin aluminium composite panels (ACM) when clean evacuation is required.

Why Trust our Tools

We use the very same tools we sell in our own CNC and Trade work, and have been for years. And trust, we have used and been frustrated with expensive sub-par tooling in the market like you have; and we want you to experience what its like to use amazing tools.

What if my Tool prematurely Snaps?

Likelyhood is that this is either due to incorrect speed/feed rates, the wrong diameter (size) being used, or too much material being removed in one pass.
Suggested fixes include: upgrading to a larger diameter tool, checking the material compatability and speed/feed recommendation on our product's page, or consulting our team on better recommendations.

How do I get the best tool Life?

Clean off any aluminium or plastic swarf that may be stuck to the tool, and wipe down with Isopropyl Alcohol, or Methylated Spirits.
Additionally, in running carbide tools, make sure that workholding is rigid and loose parts are secured during cutting to prevent vibration and premature tool snapping or chipping.
Ensure tool paths include lead-ins, and that tool stick-out is a minimal as possible.
Make sure you are using premium good-quality collets and tool holders with high-accuracy

How fast are orders dispatched?

Same day if before 11am, otherwise the next morning.
If your order is urgent, please add notes in the order and the team may be able to fast-track dispatch.

What if I ordered the wrong bit?

If you wish to return, please see our return policy in the footer. There is a 15% restocking fee and freight is the customers responsibility.

Can I get technical advice before ordering?

Absolutely. Please feel free to call the team, who are more than happy to help, give guidance and point you in the right direction for your requirements.

Do we offer trade pricing or bulk discounts?

Yes. Please contact the team first before ordering. We will assess the quantity and may provide bulk discounts via a coupon or setting you up with an account.

Can I use CNC router bits in a handheld router?

Yes, absolutely. You may be more prone to backlash and chatter without a rigid setup.

How do I get the best edge quality?

Sharp new tools always leave the best edge finish; therefore it is advantageous to use a roughing tool, and a new clean finishing tool for the last pass
