This PCD tapered ball nose is built for clean 2D & 3D CNC profiling, contouring and carving. With a size of 8×6mm, it produces smooth curves and fine detail in wood, plastics, composites and aluminium. The up-cut spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently for a high-quality finish, especially on the lower surface.
Key benefits
Smooth 3D profiling for contouring, carving and finishing passes with clean, consistent curves.
PCD cutting edges for extreme wear resistance and sharp detail retention over long runs.
Up-cut spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently to reduce recutting and keep finishes clean.
Suitable for wood, plastic, aluminium and abrasive composites including MDF, particleboard and carbon fibre.

PCD edges for extreme wear resistance
Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) cutting edges deliver unmatched wear resistance and a sharper edge than conventional carbide. This keeps details crisp and maintains accuracy on abrasive materials like MDF, particleboard and carbon fibre during extended production runs.
Holds edge sharpness for consistent finishes and tight tolerances on high-abrasion sheet goods and composites.
Creative applications
A go-to finishing tool for sign makers, model builders and machinists producing 3D reliefs, moulds and artistic carvings. Perfect for finishing passes on pockets and contours after roughing, where clean detail and surface quality matter.

Why Trust our Tools

We use the very same tools we sell in our own CNC and Trade work, and have been for years. And trust, we have used and been frustrated with expensive sub-par tooling in the market like you have; and we want you to experience what its like to use amazing tools.

What if my Tool prematurely Snaps?

Likelyhood is that this is either due to incorrect speed/feed rates, the wrong diameter (size) being used, or too much material being removed in one pass.
Suggested fixes include: upgrading to a larger diameter tool, checking the material compatability and speed/feed recommendation on our product's page, or consulting our team on better recommendations.

How do I get the best tool Life?

Clean off any aluminium or plastic swarf that may be stuck to the tool, and wipe down with Isopropyl Alcohol, or Methylated Spirits.
Additionally, in running carbide tools, make sure that workholding is rigid and loose parts are secured during cutting to prevent vibration and premature tool snapping or chipping.
Ensure tool paths include lead-ins, and that tool stick-out is a minimal as possible.
Make sure you are using premium good-quality collets and tool holders with high-accuracy

How fast are orders dispatched?

Can I use CNC router bits in a handheld router?

Yes, absolutely. You may be more prone to backlash and chatter without a rigid setup.

How do I get the best edge quality?

Sharp new tools always leave the best edge finish; therefore it is advantageous to use a roughing tool, and a new clean finishing tool for the last pass
