This Compression Bit combines both up-cut and down-cut flute geometry to deliver continuous burr-free edges on the top and bottom surfaces of your workpiece, efficiently remove swarf for easy clean-up and to run fast!
Key benefits
Burr-free Edges thanks to Up-cut and down-cut flutes
Extended tool life with DLC coating.
1-flute design provides a smooth finish, stable cutting, and reliable chip extraction
Ideal for CNC routing of ACM, wood, MDF, plywood, laminates and non-abrasive composites.
Special geometry extracts chips for easy cleanup. Best suited for large panels and big shapes where vacuum hold-down is sufficient.
Cuts panels with Pre-applied Vinyl beautifully, no furry edges.
Small 3.175mm Diameter, perfect for tight corners
Engineered for CNC routing of ACM panels, joinery and cabinet making when cutting plywood, MDF, solid timber, laminates and non-abrasive composites.
Diameter3.175mm Cut Length12mm Flutes1 Overall Length38mm
DLC coating for low-friction cutting
A diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating provides an exceptionally hard, low-friction surface that prevents aluminium chips from sticking to the tool. This anti-stick property improves chip removal and reduces heat build-up, making the bit ideal for machining ACM, Woods and composite materials.
Reduced chip welding means cleaner edges, lower heat, and more consistent finishes over long runs.
Versatility and benefits
Thanks to its 1-flute compression geometry, this bit excels at dados, grooves, slots, mortises, edge trimming and cutting panels with Vinyl pre-applied. It’s a favourite among sign makers cabinetmakers, and CNC hobbyists for cutting ACM, laminates, veneers and MDF. Whether you’re creating pockets, trimming laminates or nesting parts, this compression bit improves productivity.

Why Trust our Tools

We use the very same tools we sell in our own CNC and Trade work, and have been for years. And trust, we have used and been frustrated with expensive sub-par tooling in the market like you have; and we want you to experience what its like to use amazing tools.

What if my Tool prematurely Snaps?

Likelyhood is that this is either due to incorrect speed/feed rates, the wrong diameter (size) being used, or too much material being removed in one pass.
Suggested fixes include: upgrading to a larger diameter tool, checking the material compatability and speed/feed recommendation on our product's page, or consulting our team on better recommendations.

How do I get the best tool Life?

Clean off any aluminium or plastic swarf that may be stuck to the tool, and wipe down with Isopropyl Alcohol, or Methylated Spirits.
Additionally, in running carbide tools, make sure that workholding is rigid and loose parts are secured during cutting to prevent vibration and premature tool snapping or chipping.
Ensure tool paths include lead-ins, and that tool stick-out is a minimal as possible.
Make sure you are using premium good-quality collets and tool holders with high-accuracy

How fast are orders dispatched?

Same day if before 11am, otherwise the next morning.
If your order is urgent, please add notes in the order and the team may be able to fast-track dispatch.

What if I ordered the wrong bit?

If you wish to return, please see our return policy in the footer. There is a 15% restocking fee and freight is the customers responsibility.

Can I get technical advice before ordering?

Absolutely. Please feel free to call the team, who are more than happy to help, give guidance and point you in the right direction for your requirements.

Do we offer trade pricing or bulk discounts?

Yes. Please contact the team first before ordering. We will assess the quantity and may provide bulk discounts via a coupon or setting you up with an account.

Can I use CNC router bits in a handheld router?

Yes, absolutely. You may be more prone to backlash and chatter without a rigid setup.

How do I get the best edge quality?

Sharp new tools always leave the best edge finish; therefore it is advantageous to use a roughing tool, and a new clean finishing tool for the last pass
