Replacement insert system
The Atlas Tools Surface Planer Router Bit uses four 12x12 carbide inserts. These replacement inserts allow worn cutting edges to be refreshed without replacing the full cutter body. Keep a pack on hand for regular spoilboard resurfacing, slab flattening and workshop levelling work.
Inspect inserts regularly. Replace worn or damaged inserts to maintain finish quality, reduce cutting load and keep the planer running cleanly.
Built for surfacing maintenance
These inserts are suited to CNC users regularly flattening slabs, levelling glued panels, resurfacing MDF spoilboards or preparing timber-based sheet materials. Replacing worn inserts helps keep the planer cutting consistently and avoids pushing dull edges through the material.

Why Trust our Tools

We use the very same tools we sell in our own CNC and Trade work, and have been for years. And trust, we have used and been frustrated with expensive sub-par tooling in the market like you have; and we want you to experience what its like to use amazing tools.

What if my Tool prematurely Snaps?

Likelyhood is that this is either due to incorrect speed/feed rates, the wrong diameter (size) being used, or too much material being removed in one pass.
Suggested fixes include: upgrading to a larger diameter tool, checking the material compatability and speed/feed recommendation on our product's page, or consulting our team on better recommendations.

How do I get the best tool Life?

Clean off any aluminium or plastic swarf that may be stuck to the tool, and wipe down with Isopropyl Alcohol, or Methylated Spirits.
Additionally, in running carbide tools, make sure that workholding is rigid and loose parts are secured during cutting to prevent vibration and premature tool snapping or chipping.
Ensure tool paths include lead-ins, and that tool stick-out is a minimal as possible.
Make sure you are using premium good-quality collets and tool holders with high-accuracy
