Replaceable 12x12 insert system
The cutter body uses four 12x12 carbide inserts. When an edge becomes worn, the inserts can be rotated or replaced instead of replacing the full surface planer body. This makes the tool practical for regular spoilboard surfacing, timber flattening and workshop levelling work.
Use shallow passes and stable workholding for the cleanest finish, especially when flattening uneven slabs or resurfacing worn spoilboards.
Versatility and benefits
This surface planer is suited to CNC users who need to flatten slabs, clean up glued panels, resurface spoilboards, level MDF sheets or prepare timber before finishing. The wide 50.8mm cutter head removes material efficiently, while the 12mm shank provides a strong setup for suitable CNC routers.

Why Trust our Tools

We use the very same tools we sell in our own CNC and Trade work, and have been for years. And trust, we have used and been frustrated with expensive sub-par tooling in the market like you have; and we want you to experience what its like to use amazing tools.

What if my Tool prematurely Snaps?

Likelyhood is that this is either due to incorrect speed/feed rates, the wrong diameter (size) being used, or too much material being removed in one pass.
Suggested fixes include: upgrading to a larger diameter tool, checking the material compatability and speed/feed recommendation on our product's page, or consulting our team on better recommendations.

How do I get the best tool Life?

Clean off any aluminium or plastic swarf that may be stuck to the tool, and wipe down with Isopropyl Alcohol, or Methylated Spirits.
Additionally, in running carbide tools, make sure that workholding is rigid and loose parts are secured during cutting to prevent vibration and premature tool snapping or chipping.
Ensure tool paths include lead-ins, and that tool stick-out is a minimal as possible.
Make sure you are using premium good-quality collets and tool holders with high-accuracy

Can I use CNC router bits in a handheld router?

How do I get the best edge quality?

Sharp new tools always leave the best edge finish; therefore it is advantageous to use a roughing tool, and a new clean finishing tool for the last pass
